“Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. The scripture verse quoted above is from one of the most important chapters in the Bible. In Matthew 24, Jesus Christ gave all of us a “heads-up” about what will happen before His promised return to earth. If a person takes an honest look around at the world around us, His words resonate with absolute truth.

Hi, my name is Chris Williams. I grew up in the 1960s and 70s in that famous suburb northeast of Philly, Levittown, PA. We played a lot of sports in my neighborhood; with the Baby Boom in full swing, it was never hard to find enough kids to get a pick-up game of something going. Like most of my pals I went to church on a regular basis, believed it’s doctrines, prayed and tried to obey what I was taught. I was sort of religious but deep down inside, I felt empty.
This emptiness inside grew worse when I went away to college. Looking for answers, I was very open to a suggestion by a guy who lived in my dorm who encouraged me to read the Bible. He didn’t preach or condemn, just pointed me to the scriptures. Reading the Bible was quite a revelation; almost all of what I read was different from the “truths” my church had taught me. To make a relatively long story short, a couple years later I gave my life to Jesus Christ and received as my Lord and Savior. Some of the Bible verses that God used to save me were Romans 10:9-11, Ephesian 2:8-10, Romans 3:23, John 3:3 and John 3:16.
The purpose of this site is not to talk about what a wonderful Christian I am because I am not. I still struggle with a tendency within me to do things that I know the Bible says displease the LORD. In and of myself, I am no better than anyone else who has lived, are living and will live. But I am forgiven and have a Person I can go to ask for forgiveness for my failings and for help in time of need.
His name is the Lord Jesus Christ.
I’m a freelance writer and have been blessed to have several of my manuscripts turned into books. The main purpose of this site is to introduce visitors to some of the books I’ve written. Along with two Christian inspirational titles available, I have bylines on a few secular books about baseball history and a children’s book about a real live Search and Rescue Dog.
